Mauricio Pergelier

Chilean Organist, harpsichordist and clavichordist  born 1951 in Vina del Mar.

Realized studies of organ  with german Meister Guntram Hecht. Degree in education for Music at Universidad de Chile, Valparaíso.

Courses especialzing himself in Renaissance and Barroque music at SEK University in Segovia and Conservatory of Burgos. Seminary  about Antonio de Cabezón.

Direcor of the chamber choir at Technichal University Santa Maria, Valparaíso and founder of the polyphonic Choir at University of Los Andes, Santiago de Chile.

Professor for Gregorian chant and religious Music History at Priest Seminary San Rafael, Valparaíso and San Bernardo, Santiago. He founded de Polyphonic Choirs at San Rafael  and San Bernardo, Santiago. Through many years titular organist at the Sacre Coeur Church (Cavaillé-Coll organ) and at German Evangelic Church,  Valparaíso.

Since 1997 he lives in Klagenfurt, Austria where he teaches organ and piano at the Diocesan Conservatory and worked until November 2008 as the titular Organist and Choir Director at the famous historical Cathedral of Gurk. Since then he is the titular Organist and Choir Director at Stadtpfarrkirche of Völkermarkt, Austria.

Concerts:

Through many years concert activity as organist, harpsichord and clavichord in Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Spain & Switzerland)  and South America.

Participation for  3 times (1998,2000,2005) at “Festival International del’orgue ancienne” in Sion, Switzerland (the oldest playable organ in the world from 1390).

Diffusion of old music from Central and Latin America:

He works as musicologist specializing himself in reconstitution and interpretation of  historic barroque Manuscripts from Central and Latin-America, having also his first edition in Europe.

One of the Manuscripts is a book called “Libro Sesto de María Antonia Palacios”, which was located in Santiago de Chile and is dated 1790.

Other works are from the Archives of Chiquitos-Bolivia. The first presentation in Europa of two masses “Misa Encarnación” and “Misa San Xaxer”.

He works also as musicologist in folowwing partitures of Guatemala (1580-1640)

San Juan Ixcoy, Santa Olalla de Puyumatlán, San Mateo de Ixtatán.
